Holiday Manners For The Parking Lot
Holiday Manners For The Parking Lot
With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season in full swing, the parking lot sees a lot of action. Here are some manners to help make the mad rush of finding the perfect parking space a more courteous and jolly experience.
Parking Manner #1: If another driver is waiting for your spot as you approach your car to leave, motion the universal hand signal that you know they are waiting, nod, smile and move your car.

Parking Manner #3: If someone motions or yells an obscenity to you, wave and smile.
Parking Manner #4: If someone is behind you in the parking lot and you do not plan on moving, roll your window down and motion for them to go around.
Parking Manner #5: Avoid honking the horn unless it's necessary to insure safe driving.
Parking Manner #6: Use your turn signal. Always.
Parking Manner #7: Use your signal in a timely manner to give other drivers plenty of time to anticipate what you are planning to do.
Parking Manner #8: Be respectful of special designated parking spaces. Park in the "Expectant Mother" space only if you are, in fact, pregnant.
Parking Manner #9: Signal to other drivers with your blinker when you reach a desired parking spot. When two cars reach a parking spot at the same time, the car that turns their signal on first gets the spot.
Parking Manner #10: Park straight, in between the lines, and pull in as close to the front of the parking spot as possible to allow plenty of room for drivers.
Parking Manner 11: If you drive a compact car, don't pull in too far. Make sure the back of your car can be seen by other cars driving down the lane, so your spot is not mistaken as empty.
Parking Manner #12: Be careful when opening car doors. No one likes a dented car!
